People of peace have guided mankind throughout history. They are often looked at to make sense of events that dominate our news and history. Also, they often are newsmakers for what they have done or are doing.

    The grade seven students were asked to develop a list of common characteristics of peacemakers. Why do people decide to become peacemakers? What challenges are there in being a person of peace. Who are the greatest peacemakers in history? From these and other questions the students created a list of peacemakers. Their assignment was to write a short biography, of the peacemaker they choose, and evaluate what qualities made them a peacemaker. Each group  researched a peacemaker of their choice. After completion of the research, the group evaluated all information presented and wrote a short biography on their person of peace. As a conclusion the students were to evaluate why these people were peacemakers.
