Relief, according to the American Heritage Dictionary, is “The easing of a burden or distress, such as pain, anxiety, or oppression”. It is clear then, that the goal of Tsunami relief is to aid those that have been affected by the disastrous earthquake. The relief attempts offer assistance to Southeast Asian victims in a time of difficulty. Relief efforts have been made worldwide and have come in various forms including financial contributions, medical aid, food, supplies, physical reconstruction, educational rebuilding, psychological nurturing, and volunteer assistance. Hence, the Tsunami relief encompasses any aid with the primary goal of bettering the lives of individuals in stricken areas. This includes relief labours in dealing with the aftermath and preventing further devastation resulting from poor health conditions, lack of resources, inadequate living conditions, and non –existent infrastructures.
