The following is not intended to be a complete listing of every
item you will need to complete this course. The main materials needed have been
outlined.
- compound (light) microscope with 4X, 10X, 40X objective lenses
- slides and cover slips
- lens
paper & lens
cleaner
- petri dishes (optional - for mold growth)
- prepared slides (including various typical animal cells,
amoeba, paramecium, euglena, hydra, leaf cross sections, root cross sections,
and stem cross sections)
- clear plastic ruler (for measuring field-of-view of a microscope)
- biological stains (iodine or methylene blue)
- water dropper
- onion
