YOUR FAMILY HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO MAKE-OVER ONE OF THE ROOMS IN YOUR HOME. YOUR FAMILY HAS DRAWN STRAWS TO FIND OUT WHICH FAMILY MEMBER WOULD PLAN THE NEW "DREAM ROOM". YOUR NAME WAS PULLED AND YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF CREATING THE NEW ROOM!

WHAT IS BRAINSTORMING?

IN ORDER FOR THE WORKERS TO BEGIN THE CONSTRUCTION THEY NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE IN MIND.

  1. CHOOSE YOUR "DREAM ROOM".
  2. BRAINSTORM A LIST OF FURNITURE AND OTHER ITEMS YOU MIGHT FIND IN YOUR ROOM.
SAMPLE FLOOR PLAN

THE WORKERS WILL ALSO NEED A FLOOR PLAN OF YOUR IDEAS. THEY WANT TO BUILD THE ROOM THE WAY YOU WANT IT TO LOOK.

  1. USE A PIECE OF GRID PAPER AND A PENCIL TO DRAW TEN ITEMS. FIVE OF YOUR ITEMS MUST INCLUDE:
    • A BED
    • A LIGHT
    • A DRESSER
    • A CLOSET
    • A DOOR

    THE OTHER FIVE ITEMS ARE YOUR CHOICE FROM YOUR LIST.

PENCIL CRAYONS

IN ORDER FOR THE WORKERS TO FULLY UNDERSTAND YOUR PLANS YOU WILL NEED TO WRITE YOUR FLOOR PLAN WITH THE FOLLOWING IN MIND:

    • LABEL EACH OF YOUR TEN ITEMS WITH CORRECT SPELLING
    • USE A DARK PENCIL CRAYON TO WRITE THE MULTIPLYING SENTENCE THAT MATCHES THE NUMBER OF UNITS OF FLOOR SPACE USED BY EACH ITEM
    • COLOR THE ITEMS AND THE FLOORING
    • OUTLINE EACH ITEM AND LABEL WITH A DARK PENCIL CRAYON
    • TITLE YOUR DREAM ROOM FLOOR PLAN

SUBMIT YOUR FLOOR PLAN TO THE HEAD CONTRACTOR SO THAT CONSTRUCTION CAN BEGIN.
