The contemporary Spanish chronicler, Sebastian de Olmedo (Chronicon magistrorum generalium Ordinis Prædicatorum, fol. 80-81) calls Torquemada "the hammer of heretics, the light of Spain, the saviour of his country, the honour of his order". 2005

John Paul II, the charismatic pontiff, who led to God, the world's 1 billion Catholics for 26 years, died at 9:37 p.m. Saturday on April 2, 2005, at the age of 84. He gave us all an example in living out the Catholic Faith as a witness to the cross.

2004

Many inspirations came from John Paul II, his love for the youth, his care for the sick, and also his attentiveness to the world of modern media... He will always inspire all of us, that's why this year is dedicated to him, and his pastoral work.
