April CIF

Webcam videos

I am very happy to present another easy CIF for the month of April. This will require each of the developers to create two videos. One serious and one not so serious.

The goal:

Is to create a 30 second to 2 minute video that can be displayed on the cyber school web site and a second video with be displayed in the overview section of your course.
The first video should be fairly short and serious with you inviting people to take your course and reasons why they should. This serious video will be your selling card for your course.

The second video can be a little more silly and will be displayed within your course under the overview icon. It will be placed in a file called 'Your Instructor' and will be the first file in the path, just above overview.
Logitech webcams are easy to use. But if you need help check out...

How to use a webcam.

Make sure you save your video so it can be played via windows media player...'wvm, avi, mp4' (I like mp4 myself because it works with my ipod and it's has great compression.)

Brief instructions and I hope you start to see the value in creating some quick videos for different section within your course.

However to complete this CIF you need to send Lynette (lsuchar@gscs.sk.ca) a copy of your serious video for the website and then send an email Dcannell@gscs.sk.ca so he can add a smiley to your progress chart.
There are a few good examples of stills below. (We have one heck of a nice looking staff.)

The staff who creates the best video as selected by the registrars will win the original wildlife watercolour painting as shown below.

The winning video goes to Ryan Hauber...congrats.
