NO IDLE ZONE In the coming days you may notice a “No Idle Zone” sign in front of the school. We, in consultation with the School Community Council, are asking parents and guardians to make and effort to shut off their engines in front of the school whenever possible. This will not only save you money, but benefits our environment and our students who walk in front of the school on their way home .
MATH MAKES SENSE As our school has now fully implemented the new math program (“Math Makes Sense”) we felt it would be useful to offer an informational night regarding this program. The philosophy and teaching of math has changed considerably over the last 5-10 years, and this is an excellent opportunity for parents/guardians to learn about the how and why of the “new math”. The Math Information Night will consist of a large group meeting and will include our math representatives from the division office. From there, each classroom will host a “mini-lesson” that will give parents a chance to try out the math for themselves. The evening will begin at 7 pm on Tuesday, January 27. We hope to see you out!
