SCCS Applications
These applications were designed to fill some of the holes left in the tracking of K-12 students in the Learning Management System. Most management systems are designed for post-secondary institutions and are designed to work with the university student registration and student reporting systems. The Saskatoon Catholic Cyber School (SCCS) does not have such tools or applications so it has found it necessary to develop it's own. This website will try to explain some of the applications that we designed in house.
The K-12 environment requires the demographics of family as well as students and we collect this information and the requested course.
Cool feature: It gives the students a username based on first initial, lastname and school. This eliminated a lot of the inappropriate usernames chosen by the students.

Application used to help with the non-semester approach. The SCCS uses a multiple entry multiple exit system, students can register when they wish and have 150 calendar days from the time they start.
Cool feature:You enter your start date and it will tell you where you should be in your course.

The Buffer System
The buffer system takes data from the registration system. It allows us to check the students demographics against the information that we have already within our school system.
Cool feature:Allows you to change a single piece of data so school system information is kept up to date.

The School Look up
Ninty five plus percent of SCCS student attend a face to face school. To solve the issue of school wondering if a student is currently taking a cyber school course we built a look up application. It sorts all the students according to school and then via a website a school can see which one of their students are currently in cyber school.
Cool feature:Saved a pile of phone calls from the home (face to face) schools.

The filemaker system is an all in one system. It is designed to fill the gaps left by the LMS to communicate with the home and give the teacher the information they need to track and assist in student retention.
Cool feature:Attempts to give a teacher with a single glance, demographics to his course(s) and students, all communications, and statistics.
